CSSC Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding announced it has inked contract with Petronas for the construction of two LNG carriers.

The two 79,900 cu m LNG carriers, in 239 metres length, 36.6 metres width, are designed to be able to sail in coastal areas in Southeast Asia and the river areas in Pearl river, Yangtze river and Huangpu river, which will be used for LNG projects in Malaysia when delivered.

It is the first type of river-sea combined transportation LNG carrier we are going to build, a breakthrough for Hudong-Zhonghua to expand LNG industry chain, said the shipyard.

The oil and gas supplier and ship leasing party is Petronas, the Malaysia’s national oil and gas resources.
