Cosco Shipping and Changan Auto ink supply chain deal

Automotive shipping developments in China continue apace with Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers and domestic automobile manufacturer Changan Auto have inking cooperation agreement to jointly develop automobile supply chain.

According to the agreement, the two parties will set up joint venter, Guangzhou Zhiyuan’an Supply Chain Company in Nansha free trade zone, Guangzhou, and integrate superior resources of two sides to develop the jv to be a leading platform for entire automobile logistics industry chain, providing customized and digitalized logistics services for automobile export of Changan automobile. 

Automobile export of China is entering into a new stage of development and the international market share keeps increasing, which provides a solid support for China’s automobile export. Establishment of the new jv will strengthen direct communications between car makers and shipping companies and achieve coordinated development among state-owned companies, commented Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers.

Changan Auto is one of the four largest automobile manufacturers in China, a major shareholder of Changan Mingsheng Logistics which is a professional third-party automobile logistics provider.

Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers runs a fleet of more than a hundred vessels, including multi-purpose and heavy lift vessels, semi-submersible vessels, pure car carriers, logs carriers as well as asphalt carriers. Its specialized vessel fleet ranks as the largest in the world
